There are certain times of the year when the light is special. The late summer afternoons are definitely one of those times. (When it is sunny that is ;) I took this the other day on a late afternoon bike ride through the English Gardens. It was still so warm out and everyone was enjoying the last minutes of daylight. Don’t you just love summer?

Wedding season is here and I am so very much looking forward to shooting a few in the upcoming months! It’s so nice to see two people in love sharing their special day and I am always honored when I am the one there to capture it. :) This photo was one of my favorites from a shoot I did with a pair who actually got completely rained out on their wedding day…so choose to do a post wedding day shoot. It was rather nice actually, having the couple there without the time constraints of the wedding, yet so very much newlyweds in love!

Whitney Beach on Longboat Key is special to me to a lot of reasons and a spot I will always be drawn back to. It’s so beautiful with it’s uprooted trees, white sand, and turquoise water…it is simply one of my favorite places in the world.
While most of my photos of Florida involve the ocean and palm trees (naturally)…there is a totally different side to my home state, a country side. While it is certainly not everyone’s style, I find it charming. If you drive inland just a bit, you will find a totally different world…
I always forget how many birds are running around my home state of Florida. It’s really a great place to capture some images of some really beautiful creatures…right in your front yard. Literally. This guy was basically staring me right in the eye through the window as I woke up yesterday morning. Haha. Apparently he is there every morning according to my dad…. so I had no problem getting my camera to snap a portrait. He was as still as a statue!

In 3 days we are heading back to Florida to visit with my family for my dad’s birthday and I couldn’t be more excited to get some Florida sunshine! This is one of my favorite photos of one of my favorite little people. Can’t wait to get back to this…

For some reason I have strawberry cake stuck in my craw. I blame Pinterest. Either way, my Easter Sunday cake apparently didn’t satisfy me enough, so a very (very) rainy day yesterday prompted me to bake this cake. It turned out a-mazing. (and actually looked like it was supposed to!) Yay. So of course I had to take some photos of it!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter weekend. Here in Germany the bank holidays continue into Monday. Looking forward to having everything open again tomorrow…my refrigerator is looking pretty sad!
Anyways, for Easter I decided to make a strawberry cake. Baking is certainly not my strong suit, but at least I had fun. Turns out it tasted pretty good as well. ;) Here are a few photos I snapped in between…

Last week spring peeked it’s head out and some friends and I went for a hike around the beautiful Walchensee in Bavaria. Unfortunately this weekend is quite chilly and rainy…but hoping the magnificent weather comes back to us soon!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of helping Yorick Carroux with a photoshoot he had shooting the Huber Brothers. It was a beautiful day up on the mountains and amazing to see how effortlessly these guys climb. It is times like this I really know why I want to do what I do. What could be a better job than this? :)
