discovery park, seattle

My last trip to Seattle was mainly to shoot a wedding for Noah and Teresa, but I also got to spend a few extra days exploring this amazing area. I had forgotten I wanted to share some photos of our day at Discovery Park until I recently saw my friend Aran’s beautiful post! So while it was grey and chilly, this was one of my favorite days in Seattle. A park on the sea, full of driftwood forts and a treasure hunt for chocolate eggs…I mean, what more could a person want really?

long florida evenings…

I haven’t been shooting nearly as much as I’d like to lately, so I decided to start taking more time to try out some techniques I haven’t used. I’ve been wanting to work on some long exposures for a while now, so the other day I packed up and spent the evening at the beach watching the waves roll in and out. It was really nice to be a bit creative with my camera again.

Next up, light painting and photographing lighting. (hopefully) :)

foggy florida…

The past few weeks in Florida have been more reminiscent of my trip to the Pacific North West than a typical Florida winter. I’m kind of in love with the foggy days we have been having. It is somehow very calming.

Even though I haven’t been picking up my camera as much as I would like to lately, I did manage to take a few shots out at my favorite beach the other day. With the fog, wind and lack of tourists it felt like a whole new place. I could have stayed out there all day.

fall in the dolomites.

Sometimes it is difficult having your friends scattered out all over the globe. There are times when I feel a little sad that I cannot see a particular person whenever I want and wish that I could just move everyone together in one spot. But then there are times like this weekend a few weeks ago, where I was able to meet up with a friend in a beautiful location and have an amazing time visiting a new place together.

It is those times I remember to live in the moment.

I met Christine at a food photography workshop in Tuscany and a few weeks ago we met again and spent the weekend in the beautiful Val di Funes in the Dolomites located in South Tyrol. We got very lucky and had unbelievable fall weather for the entire weekend. We hiked, ate, and relaxed in the sauna. It could not have been more perfect.

Thanks again to my friend for a lovely weekend and I’m looking forward to our date in NYC soon!
