Winter time is a difficult time for me to be photographically inspired…it’s just so cold, and quite frankly going outside doesn’t always sound all that appealing. That being said, winter makes for some beautiful light as well as snow covered tree branches which just makes everything look nicer, don’t you think? So even though this winter has been a fairly sun-less one, I have managed to get out there and shoot a little… as well as build my very first snowman and see some very interesting spiky frost…

christmastime already…

I see it everywhere already…it seems as though here in the US Christmas is pushed at you right after Halloween. What happened to Thanksgiving people?? Anyhow, moving on. Even though Munich winters leave something to be desired for me as far as weather goes, there is one thing I am looking forward to… that festive month leading up to the Christmas holiday.
Gluhwein, holiday markets, Tollwood, and downtown decorations really make that month of December quite bearable. Cities all around Europe decorate for the holiday season, but in my humble opinion, the Germans and Austrians really do things up right. For the weeks leading up to Christmas, it’s like a little holiday wonderland in these areas and I love it.
This year will be only my second time being in Munich for the holiday season, so I am looking forward to capturing a bit more of the festivities. Here are a couple of my favorites from Munich and around!

Today is lookin’ like it is going to be beautiful out and I am looking forward to a bike ride along the Isar river with a good friend of mine. I took this photo last year while on a bike ride through the north part of the English Gardens and while I find it difficult sometimes to capture the beautiful light that is filtered through the trees…I think this one almost does it justice. ;)

I love love love Spring in Munich. It’s so nice to have some color in the city again. This week should get up to 20C/69F, so I’m hoping that gives the trees and flowers reason enough to come back! Looking forward to shooting some photos during the upcoming season. Here are a few of my favorites from last year!
