This weekend we visited the Hoellentalklamm (Hell Valley Gorge) in Bavaria to do a little hiking. The weather on Saturday was perfect and we had such an awesome day outside…what a beautiful area!

the days of summer.
Summertime is here and I couldn’t be happier about it. Even on the hottest days, I will take it over dreary winter. I’ve spent time hanging out with friends, eating in biergartens, visiting with cool animals and cooling off in the mountain lakes. Looking forward to the next few warm weeks before autumn sets in. (Although don’t get me wrong, fall is also one of my favorite times of the year!)
Here are a view glimpses of this summer…
valley on fire…
I spent last weekend at a charity event in Hinterglemm, Austria. The weather was amazing and the one rain we did have happened during sunset and lit up the valley and sky like nothing I had ever seen. As hard as something like that is to capture with a camera, you can get a little bit of an idea how beautiful it was…
the karwendel mountains…
I’ve been getting more and more into hiking over the past few months…(Not sure what took me so long actually) Anyhow though, last weekend a good friend of mine took me to my first over-night hike in the beautiful Karwendel Mountains. It was amazing. Despite having sort of missed the apparently amazing foliage of the Ahornboden Valley, which as we find out only lasts about a week in the mountains, we did manage to see some beautiful changing leaves as well as some absolutely stunning views from above during our hike up.
I am hooked on this Alpine hiking. The fresh mountain air, exercise, and great photo opportunities…what more could I ask for?
